So nice to hear that you have friends that will come and provide encouragement to you while you are stuck in that hospital. I am praying that people continue to come your way in the days and weeks ahead that lift you up! Ramona, you're doing great! Keep on fighting! I'm praying for you!

Hello everyone!!

The big weekend is fast approaching and we're all very excited, as you are too! Here is a little update on the 24 Hour Hockey Marathon.

The player entries are pouring in, so make sure you get your entries in by Monday Oct 2. The first entrants will have a better chance at playing during their preferred time slots, and if your entry is one of the last received, you may not get to play as many hours as you would like...... We still need a few more referees for the Hockey Marathon.

We have some nice Silent Auction and Chinese Auction prizes to be won. We have numerous NHL Autographed items, as well as Manitoba Moose and WHL items. Plus many more items donated by various businesses.

We're assuming many will come and need places for night. Below you will find information we were able to get from the 3 motels in Steinbach. Please read them carefully, get in contact with your friends & family, then call to reserve by Wednesday, Oct. 4. We hope this helps for your weekend planning.

Looking forward to seeing you on Oct. 6 & 7!!

On behalf of "Friends of Ramona"
the Petkau family in Steinbach

Sorry about the novel I posted before folks :)

Forgot to mention one thing- any Boston Bruins fans out there??? One of the items we will either raffle or auction, possibly online, is the following package from the Boston Bruins:
Autographed Tim Thomas stick with certificate of authenticity,
4 tickets to a Bruins game (Christmas trip anyone???)

and a pass for one bench assistant who will watch the pre-game warm-up from the Boston Bruins bench and meet the players.(bench assistant must be 6-14 years old)

I know it's not the Red Deer Rebels (they have a great goalie with a familiar last name), but it sure sounds like fun!!

Hey guys,

Still here and keeping up to date. Wish I could be there for the big marathon, but more than that, I wish I could come hang out with you at the hospital and at home.

Keep up the zeal. We see bits and pieces of what God is doing even here on the blog, but it's just the tip of the iceberg. He's doing his thing far beyond what we see and know and you are a part of it. Keep pressing on and remember that the combination of all the care and concern and love and prayers coming from all the people are only a fraction-a picture-of the care and concern and love that God has for you, Earl and Ramona, and for the rest of you bloggers out there.

Love you and miss you,
Joanna

Hey guys, great to hear that Ramona wasn't feeling too horrible. I really hope it stays that way. Man, do we ever wish we could stop by and visit you two! We continue to be amazed by your courage in the face of all this. You are pointing so many people to Christ, letting us get a clearer glimpse of who He is and what's important in life. I can only say a deep thank you. I truly believe that your lack of bitterness and decision to keep trusting God and obeying Him through this is why He is able to work so powerfully in people's lives thru your situation. I'm sure there are days where you don't envision a halo around your head or anything close but ultimately you have made an obvious choice to hang on to God and learn more about him thru this and that is simply a powerful and life changing witness. If you can have a part in someone finding Jesus that is just pretty much the ultimate. So, more power to you guys. We love you and remember you and are praying for more and more of God's strength in your lives.
Love Christy (and Jake)
